Game Guardian is sports protection technology, born from years of blood, sweat, and research.
Founded in 2011 by Lucas Lang, a Master in Dental Technology and Prosthetics, Game Guardian began as MouthGuardian — a side project to his growing Dentistry Plus dental clinics. His goal was simple: help athletes protect their teeth and play without fear.
But that was just the beginning.
Lucas soon realised the same science that protected teeth could protect the entire body. Partnering with lifelong friend and Australian Olympic Hockey Team Strength Coach, Mike Vegar, they began developing new levels of impact protection for elite athletes — and Game Guardian was born.
Tested by the Best
The first Stealth Hockey Guard prototype was developed in collaboration with the Australian Men’s Olympic Gold Medal Hockey Team — athletes who demand world-class protection and performance.
From there, Lucas and Mike travelled globally, refining materials, compression technology, and ergonomic fit to create equipment that protects without compromise.
Today, Game Guardian combines scientific innovation with athlete-driven design to deliver high-performance gear trusted by professionals and built for those who play fearless.
Innovation That Changed the Game
In 2015, the Game Guardian team expanded their vision with the creation of HitIQ, revolutionising how sport manages head impacts.
By embedding an accelerometer, gyroscope, computer chip, and Bluetooth connectivity into a mouthguard, they created the HitIQ Nexus A9 — enabling real-time impact monitoring for brain-injury prevention.
Since launch, HitIQ has partnered with the AFL, German Ice Hockey Federation, and Scottish Rugby, changing how brain health and performance are managed in elite sport.
